VASSANA KALO (This is the time to observe Rains Retreat) - Invitation Ceremony

We are pleased to inform you that the Resident Monk in Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden, together with another two (2) Sri Lankan monks will observe Vassa Retreat in the Centre after the full Moon Day of 2nd August 2012. Duration of the Vassa period is 3 months starting from 3rd August 2012.
During Vassa Retreat, devotees are encouraged to provide the 4 requisites to the Bhantes, namely Robes, Food, Accommodation and Medicines.
Bhantes will be leading blessing services on requests, conducting 100 days evening prayers and meditation sessions so that devotees can develop their spirituality.
At the end of the Vassa Retreat, devotees will have a great opportunity to perform a Kathina Ceremony (which is one of the greatest and most meritorious activity).

We are pleased to inform that the Resident Monks observing Rains Retreat at Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden Buddhist Society will be chanting Blessing Sutras every evening.

Metta Sutta : For spiritual development.
Mangala Sutta : For 38 blessings.
Tirokudda Sutta : To make departed relatives happy.
Bojjhanga Sutta : For good health.
Abhisambidana paritta : For protection.
Ratana Sutta : For protection from 3 fears.
Dasadisa paritta : For protection from ten directions.
Jalanandana paritta : For protection from all the evils.
Jaya paritta : For victory and good luck.
On every Saturday, there will be 28 Buddhas puja during the Rains Retreat.
Devotees are encouraged to join in the evening chanting sessions and 28 Buddha puja sessions. You can offer jasmine flowers to the Buddha throughout the 100 days' prayers. Blessing water will be distributed on 10th of November (Saturday) at 8.30pm.
All are welcome to take this opportunity to receive the wholesome energies that will be generated by the recitation of holy sutras during the 3 months Vassa.

End of Vassa Period Special Prayers
For your info, the Resident Monks in Ti-Ratana Lumbini Garden have been observing Vassa Retreat in the Centre since the full Moon Day of 15th July 2011. Duration of the Vassa period is 3 months, which falls on the period from 16th July to 11th October 2011. Throughout the Vassa Period, chanting of selected Suttas is held every evening at 8.30pm - 9.30pm.
To conclude the Vassa Retreat, 28 Buddha prayers will be conducted. All devotees are invited to this ceremony and obtain the special blessings water prepared throughout the 100 days chanting session.

Sunday 24 July 2011 Dhamma Talk
We are pleased to inform that there is a Dhamma Talk on 24th July 2011 (Sunday) after morning puja. For your info, Puja starts at 9.15am.
Bro. Ananda Fong hails from Kuala Lumpur, and is a graduate from the UK.
He was a student, facilitator and former Deputy Principal of the Buddhist Institute Sunday Dhamma School (BISDS) at the Buddhist Maha Vihara (BMV), Brickfields, KL.
He was also a facilitator and former Principal of Bandar Utama Buddhist Society (BUBS) Sunday Dhamma School, and its President.
During his service in BISDS and BUBS, he also helped as the co-organizer and facilitator of Dhamma School Teachers Training Programs.
He has been a facilitator in Dhamma Speakers Training Programs, and Tutor in Certificate / Diploma in Buddhism programs. He gives Dhamma sharings regularly at Buddhist Societies in the Klang Valley.
