Synopsis

This is the 1st part of a 3-part series.

This 3-part series helps us understand how our brain has evolved over millions of years, and what it is about our brain that makes us more intelligent than other species, and yet naturally highly emotional and self-centered. We will gain an insight into how the brain works, and how we can tap into its great potentials and unlimited capacity to help us shape our lives and experience greater happiness and peace of mind.

“Our Evolved Brain” on 7th August explores the evolutionary history of the human brain and what makes us different from all other animal species.

“Our Emotional Brain” on 14th August explains how the structure and function of brain circuitry makes us naturally more emotional and self-centered, and what happens when we become emotional.

“Emotional Intelligence” on 21st August discusses how we can apply our intellect to overcome our natural instincts and how we can become more resourceful with human nature and our relationship with people.

The above will be explored from the perspective of Psychology and Neuroscience, and where applicable we will connect this learning with teachings of the Buddha.
